NGO chief warns of domestic workers’ mental health

“As time went on, we started seeing an emergent mental health crisis,” says Manisha Wijesinghe, Executive Director of HELP for Domestic Workers in her conversation with Prime Sarmiento from China Daily Hong Kong

Isolation, heavy workloads, bereavement, loss of job and related fears are triggering a mental health crisis among migrant domestic workers if not exacerbating existing ones. HELP has been on the frontlines supporting at-risk domestic workers with free mental health and wellbeing counselling services through the MeHeal initiative.
