Communications & Development Officer/Manager
Reports to: Head of Communications & Development
Key Relationships: Executive director and senior leadership team, staff, board of directors, volunteers, interns, service users
Key External Contacts: Migrant domestic workers, employers and other partner organisations.
Key responsibilities:-
1. Oversight and management of HELP communications and development initiatives
– Responsible for the implementation of HELP’s communications and development strategy including monitoring and improvement of processes and frameworks.
– Assist in the identification and implementation of diverse fundraising initiatives to secure resources that support the organisation’s financial stability and long-term sustainability.
– Assist in developing funding proposals, and budgets in line with organisational needs, and in finalising and submitting periodic reports and updates to funders.
– Assist in developing, monitoring, and evaluating projects to ensure alignment with agreed funder targets, and prepare and submit periodic reports and updates as required.
– Assist in the development and management of stakeholder relationships including long term grant partnerships, corporate donor programmes, individual giving programmes, volunteer engagement programmes and public engagement programmes.
– Assist in managing and overseeing HELP’s social media and communication channels, developing communication materials, and monitoring and evaluating communication data through qualitative and quantitative analysis to measure reach, engagement, and overall visibility of HELP’s profile and services.
2. Volunteer and Interns
– Responsible for overseeing and managing HELP’s Communications and Development volunteers and interns.
– Work with the Head of Communications and Development to administer and maintain volunteer and intern rosters, training schedules, and ensure the continuous review and updating of training and onboarding materials.
3. Organisation Operations
Working with the Head of Communications and Development and members of the senior leadership team (as the case may be), to provide input to the development and implementation of HELP’s strategic plan and annual operational plan.
4. External partnership and communications
Establish and maintain relationships with various organisations, corporates and other stakeholders and utilise those relationships to strategically enhance HELP’s Mission.
5. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or Board of Directors from time to time
Qualifications:
– Graduate degree in communications, social science, human rights or equivalent fields
– Fluency in written and spoken English.
– Knowledge of Chinese, Filipino, Bahasa, Hindi, Sinhalese, Punjabi, Urdu or other languages is an advantage;
– Demonstrable passion and knowledge of human rights issues, particularly those faced by migrant workers, women and minority groups
– Ability to work in a culturally diverse workplace. Flexible and able to work under pressure.

Programme Officer/Manager
Reports to: Head of Programmes

Key responsibilities:-
1. Programme management and implementation
○ Responsible for the design and delivery of HELP’s front-line programmes and services including but not limited to HELP’s education, casework and empowerment programmes.
○ Responsible for providing advice and support to HELP service users, preparing relevant documents, and assisting or accompanying them to meetings and court hearings as required.
○ Responsible for overseeing weekend drop-in clinics and liaising with pro bono partners and stakeholder organisations on shared cases.
○ Oversight, monitoring and evaluation of HELP’s service user data including gathering of qualitative and quantitative data to measure the overall impact of the organisation.
○ Working with the Head of Programmes to ensure timely communication of programme information and impact data with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Marketing & Communications Internship
Key responsibilities:
- Conceptualise and implement marketing and communications initiatives and campaigns
- Designing and presenting new social media campaign ideas.
- Write and design engaging social media content for Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram
- Monitoring all social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback
- Work on the annual report, research reports, etc.
- Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and activities for marketing and communications
- Working with vulnerable interviewees and confidential information
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Communications
Qualifications and Experience:
- Students with a solid academic background with an interest in the non-profit sector.
- A firm grasp of social media and campaign development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have experience in Canva
- Experience in WordPress and Mailchimp is a plus
- An interest in photography and videography will be highly advantageous.
- A good team player with a “can-do” attitude
- Previous experience working in non-profit organisations is advantageous.

Programmes Internship
Role Description:
We are looking for undergraduate or postgraduate students who are interested in working with our Programmes Team to:
- Support in the organising and implementing of, but not limited to, MeHeal Mental Health programme or HELPing Hands Educational programme
- Assist in volunteer management
- Assist in HELP’s beneficiaries’ and community leaders’ engagement
- Assist in monitoring projects and drafting periodic reports
- Assist in developing long and short-term project ideas, including research to strengthen and expand the existing HELP programmes
- Undertake other administrative tasks and project activities as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Excellent command of English (both written and spoken). The ability to speak Cantonese, Filipino, Bahasa Indonesia, or Sinhala is an added advantage.
- Able to work independently but knows when to ask for support.
- Is familiar with Google Workspace and Canva.
- Strong writing and research skills.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritise responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail is crucial for accurate record-keeping and data management.
- A solid academic background with an interest in the non-profit sector.
- Has a good team player with a “can-do” attitude.
