Case Worker
We are seeking a talented and dynamic Case Worker to join our team. .
Reports to: Head of Case Management & Research.
Key Relationships: Executive director and senior leadership team, staff, board of directors, volunteers, interns, beneficiaries.
Key External Contacts: Migrant domestic workers, employers and other partner organisations.
Key responsibilities:-
- Case Management & Beneficiary Support
- Provide appropriate advice, support and services to HELP beneficiaries, including referrals to third-party service providers.
- Prepare submissions, correspondence and other documents on behalf of HELP beneficiaries.
- Support in preparing HELP beneficiaries for meetings and court hearings; accompany beneficiaries to meetings and Court hearings as required.
- Responsible for the oversight and management of Sunday Clinics as required.
- Responsible for adequately managing beneficiary information and case records on HELP’s client management system.
- Working with the Head of Case Management & Research to provide technical input and support in delivering HELP education and information programmes.
- Research into Migrant Worker Issues
- Working with the Head of Case Management & Research to conduct research concerning migrant domestic worker rights and responsibilities, including legal and policy changes.
- Working with the Head of Case Management & Research to ensure timely communication of legal and policy changes impact migrant worker rights with the broader HELP Team, casework volunteers and interns.
- Volunteer and Interns
- Support in the oversight and management of HELP Casework volunteers and Interns.
- Support in administering and maintaining volunteer/intern rosters and training schedules.
- External partnership and communications
- Establish and maintain relationships with various stakeholders and utilise those relationships to strengthen HELP’s programmes.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
- Graduates in law, social science, human rights or equivalent fields.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of Chinese, Filipino, Bahasa, Hindi, Sinhalese, Punjabi, Urdu or other languages is an advantage.
- Demonstrable passion and knowledge of human rights issues, particularly those faced by migrant workers, women and minority groups.
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse workplace.
This is a full-time role. Salary and benefits are commensurate with the chosen candidate’s experience and our status as a charity. (Salary ranges between HK$ 18,000-HKS 23,000).

Marketing & Communications Internship
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on marketing and communications experience through your active involvement in social media management, content creation, and brand promotion. You will play a vital role in enhancing our HELP’s visibility and expanding our reach.
Key responsibilities:
- Conceptualise and implement marketing and communications initiatives and campaigns
- Designing and presenting new social media campaign ideas.
- Write and design engaging social media content for Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram
- Monitoring all social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback
- Work on the annual report, research reports, etc.
- Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and activities for marketing and communications
- Working with vulnerable interviewees and confidential information
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Communications
Qualifications and Experience:
- Students with a solid academic background with an interest in the non-profit sector.
- A firm grasp of social media and campaign development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have experience in Canva
- Experience in WordPress and Mailchimp is a plus
- An interest in photography and videography will be highly advantageous.
- A good team player with a “can-do” attitude
- Previous experience working in non-profit organisations is advantageous.

Programmes Internship
As a Programme Intern, you will get the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in program management and contribute to the successful execution of various initiatives.
Role Description:
We are looking for undergraduate or postgraduate students who are interested in working with our Programmes Team in supporting our MeHeal Mental Health programme or HELPing Hands Educational programme. Under the oversight of the Head of Programmes, you will be given the opportunity to gain invaluable first-hand experience to:
- Support in the organising and implementing of, but not limited to, MeHeal Mental Health programme or HELPing Hands Educational programme
- Assist in volunteer management
- Assist in HELP’s beneficiaries’ and community leaders’ engagement
- Assist in monitoring projects and drafting periodic reports
- Assist in developing long and short-term project ideas, including research to strengthen and expand the existing HELP programmes
- Undertake other administrative tasks and project activities as may be assigned from time to time.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Excellent command of English (both written and spoken). The ability to speak Cantonese, Filipino, Bahasa Indonesia, or Sinhala is an added advantage.
- Able to work independently but knows when to ask for support.
- Is familiar with Google Workspace and Canva.
- Strong writing and research skills.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritise responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail is crucial for accurate record-keeping and data management.
- A solid academic background with an interest in the non-profit sector.
- Has a good team player with a “can-do” attitude.
Available to start on the week of 22 April 2024 and can work flexibly from Monday to Friday (10 am to 6 pm) for a minimum of 24 hours per week plus occasional Sundays, weekly working hours and end dates are negotiable.
